Dentist Map

Privacy policy

Draft pending legal review. It describes what Dentist Map collects, why, and who it’s shared with.

Patients

  1. No account needed. You can search the map without signing up or giving your name, email or phone number.
  2. Your searches. To show nearby dentists we use the location you type or share. We keep a record of each search (an approximate location rounded to about a kilometer, the distance, specialty, insurance and anything you typed about what you need) to count searches and improve results. It isn’t linked to your name or contact details. Please don’t type health details you’d rather keep private.
  3. Address lookup. When you type an address, it’s sent to a mapping service (Google Maps, or OpenStreetMap) to find its location. The map itself loads from OpenStreetMap.
  4. Reports. If you report an error on a profile, we keep your message and any name or email you choose to give, so we can follow up.

Dentists

  1. Your listing. When you list, we collect your name, email, practice address and license number. We check your license with the state board before your listing goes live, so no one can list as you. Your license number isn’t shown publicly.
  2. Your profile. We draft your profile from public sources (such as your practice website and public review sites) with the help of AI, and you can edit or remove anything. What you publish (photo, bio, training, services, insurance, office details and public ratings) is shown to everyone.
  3. Badges and ownership. For badges we keep your signed ownership statement and the review notes. Ownership information is shown only after we notify you and give you time to correct it.
  4. Payments. Optional ads are paid through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  5. Hiding or deleting. You can hide your profile any time from your dentist page. Ask us and we’ll delete your listing.

Everyone

  1. Cookies. We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
  2. Who processes data for us. Hosting and file storage (Vercel), database (Neon), email (Resend), payments (Stripe), address lookup (Google Maps or OpenStreetMap), public review data (Google, Yelp) and profile drafting (Anthropic). They handle data only to provide their service to us.
  3. We don’t sell your data and we don’t share it for other companies’ advertising.
  4. Security. Sign-in uses one-time email links instead of passwords, and connections are encrypted. To block abuse, we briefly keep the IP address of sign-up, sign-in and report attempts.
  5. Children. Dentist Map isn’t directed at children under 13.
  6. Contact and changes. The contact address for privacy questions will be listed here before launch. If this policy changes, we’ll update the date below.
