Dentist Map

Badge-use terms

Version 2026-10-28. Draft pending legal review. These terms apply to any dentist or practice that holds a Dentist Map badge.

  1. What you may say. You may display the badge exactly as provided, with its year and region, and describe it accurately, for example “Verified Private Practice, Dentist Map, New York 2026.” Link it to your Dentist Map profile or our criteria page where you can.
  2. What you may not say. Don’t present a badge as a rating of clinical quality, a specialty, a certification by a government or dental board, or proof that you’re better than other dentists. Don’t use words like “best” or “top” with it.
  3. Your own advertising rules. You remain responsible for making sure any advertising that includes the badge follows your state’s dental advertising rules and professional ethics codes.
  4. Keeping it current. Your ownership statement must be renewed every 12 months. You agree to tell us within 30 days if your practice’s ownership or control changes.
  5. Removal. If you stop meeting the criteria, your statement lapses, or a badge was based on inaccurate information, the badge is removed from Dentist Map. You agree to stop displaying it elsewhere within 30 days of removal.
  6. Verification. We may ask for documents that confirm ownership. We keep them confidential and use them only to verify eligibility.
  7. No payment. Badges are never sold. Buying optional paid features doesn’t affect them.
